The Christian Burial Board is a statutory body formed under the Burial Board Act ( Bengal Act V ) 1881.

It is a unique statutory body providing emergency, charitable, social and religious services to the public.

It is also the custodian of historical cemeteries with archaelogical significance and endorsements.

The CBB also has to maintain and preserve more than 12000 monuments / family graves containing a few lakhs of mortal remains of individuals since 1881 and detailed records thereof.
