Kolkata/IBNS: The Prabha Khaitan Foundation hosted a high-level French delegation led by Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, for wide-ranging discussions on strengthening cultural collaboration between the two countries.

The talks explored future partnerships with the Embassy of France in India, the French Institute in India (IFI) and the Alliance Française network, with a shared focus on promoting art, literature and cultural exchange, while creating meaningful platforms for artists, writers and cultural practitioners from both nations.

Sundeep Bhutoria, Managing Trustee of the Prabha Khaitan Foundation, walked the delegation through the Foundation's wide-ranging initiatives and outlined concrete opportunities for joint programmes. Ambassador Mathou, in turn, expressed his enthusiasm for working together to further deepen Indo-French cultural ties.

"This exchange reflected a shared commitment to advancing cultural and intellectual collaboration between India and France. For nearly four decades, the Prabha Khaitan Foundation has worked to promote literature, arts and cross-cultural dialogue, and we see tremendous potential to expand these efforts through new collaborative initiatives during the India-France Year of Innovation and beyond," said Priyanshi Patel, Honorary Convenor – International Affairs, Prabha Khaitan Foundation.

The visiting delegation—representing the Embassy of France in India, the French Institute in India and Alliance Française du Bengale—included Thierry Morel, Consul General of France in Kolkata; Grégor Trumel, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, IFI; Julia Trouilloud, Attaché for Books, Debates and Ideas, IFI; Mathieu Bejot, Audiovisual Attaché; Marc Boudin, Director, Alliance Française du Bengale; Yazid Soussi, Political Advisor to the Consul General; and Calypso Cassier-Deschamps, Information and Press Assistant.
