Kolkata hosts re-launch of environmental magazine 'Environ'
Kolkata, July 10 (IBNS) Environ, an environmental and wildlife magazine, was re-launched in popular lifestyle store Starmark's Quest Mall outlet in Kolkata on Friday.
Film-maker Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, fashion designer Agnimitra Paul, Director of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Political and Economic Affairs Officer of US Consulate Gaurav Bansal and the Editor in Chief of Environ magazine Biswajit Roy Chowdhury were present at the re-launch.

Designer Agnimitra Paul, who called herself an ‘avid animal lover’, said, “I am such an honest animal lover that I plan to leave designing after a few years. Given a chance, I want to go to the forests and serve the animals. I think this magazine is wonderful. We hardly have this kind of magazine in Kolkata. It’s such a beautiful gift for animal lovers like us. I want to thank Environ magazine for it.”
Paul expressed her desire of working with the women of Sundarban.
She said, “We are planning to do a show where the women of Sunderban can come up and work with me, the money raised from the show will be used for the conservation of the forest areas of Sundarban.”
She also wants to launch a range of t-shirts to promote the endangered animals.
Film-maker Kamaleshwar Mukherjee said, “We are grateful to Environ magazine for the kind of work they are doing. The conservation of forests is very important and the nature has incurred a huge loss due to deforestations and the lumbering of trees. This has to stop. Environ is slowly working towards educating people and I thank them for undertaking this brilliant initiative.”
Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Director, Sundarban Biosphere Reserve, said, “The Sunderban is a world heritage site and everyone should visit the forests, take a look at different things there and relax your minds.”
Environ magazine has a readership base of 25,000 people and circulated across 8 countries. The magazine priced at Rs. 100 will be available at all leading newspaper retail stalls.
