After Sena ban, Ghulam Ali gets invitation from AAP
New Delhi, Oct 8 (IBNS) Hours after Shiv Sena banned his concert in Mumbai over border firing, legendary Pakistani Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali gets invited by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for a concert in Delhi.
Condemning the incident, Delhi's Culture Minister, Kapil Mishra wrote on his official twitter page: "Sad that #GhulamAli is not being allowed in Mumbai, I invite him to come to Delhi and do the concert. Music has no boundaries. #BanTheBan."
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena defended its move to cancel the concert.
Aditya Thackeray, a Shiv Sena leader and son of Uddhav Thackeray said, "We are not against his music or art. But can we enjoy when our soldiers are facing atrocities."
Shiv Sena, holding Pakistan responsible of the death of Indian army troops, had earlier commented that the State cannot have any cultural ties with Pakistan as their troops kill Indian soldiers.
Opposing their ally's movements, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi of the BJP told a new channel: "What the Sena is doing with Ghulam Ali is absolutely wrong. People like him must be kept above and beyond borders."
The concert was suppose to be a tribute to Indian Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, with whom Ghulam Ali enjoyed a life-long camaraderie.
