New Delhi, June 12 (IBNS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is sheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in New Delhi.

According to reports, the time of the meeting has been fixed at 5 pm.

However, the agenda of the meeting is yet unknown.

This comes at a time when Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP) government is under pressure with number of rape cases increasing in UP.

A 35-year-old woman has alleged that she was raped by a Station House Officer (SHO) at Sumerpur police station in Hamirpur district, said reports on Thursday.

The woman said in the intervening night of June 9 and 10, SHO Rahul Pandey took her inside his office room and allegedly raped her, while three constables on duty at that time did nothing to stop him.

The victim said she went to the police station to get her husband released from custody.

Her husband was allegedly arrested by the police after a country-made pistol was seized from him.

She claimed Pandey asked her to pay a bribe to get her husband out of jail and when she refused, he allegedly raped her.

The police said Pandey has been arrested while his three juniors have been sacked from duty.

A 45-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Wednesday, triggering suspicion she has been gang-raped and then hanged from the tree like two girls in Badaun in the recent past.

Bahraich Superintendent of Police Happy Guptan said an FIR has been registered and the body of the woman has been sent for post-mortem and only after it was completed could be known if she was raped before being killed.

The woman's son alleged she was raped and then hanged from the tree. He said five men are responsible.

"She has been raped first," said the son.

Guptan said the post-mortem will be done by a panel of doctors.

Two weeks back two minor Dalit girls, both sisters in relation, were found hanging in a tree after their rape in Badaun. The incident sparked a massive protest against the ruling SP in the state.
