Arun Jaitley assumes charge as Union I&B Minister, Rajyavardhan as MoS
New Delhi, Nov 10 (IBNS): Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley assumed additional charge as Minister for Information & Broadcasting (I&B) on Monday.
Interacting with the media, Jaitley said that the paradigms of information had expanded with the steady growth of electronic, print and digital media in the country.
The information scenario had changed drastically since the days when the only sources of information were Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati.
Currently, the media landscape had seen unprecedented growth within the radio and new media streams.
Newly inducted Minister of State (MoS) for Information and Broadcasting, Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also assumed charge on Monday.
In his interaction with the media, Rathore said that he would strive to fulfil the responsibilities given to him.
Jaitley also thanked outgoing I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar for his unrelenting role in taking forward the mandate of the Ministry of I&B.
