Sydney, Dec 10 (IBNS): Fire fighters in Australia are using a fire-fighting robot to face their challenges, media reports said.

In a bid to help fire-fighters in dealing with their challenges, the robot can sweep away obstacles and clear smoke from burning buildings.

NSW Emergency Services Minister David Elliot and Fire and Rescue NSW Commissioner Greg Mullins  have reveled the Turbine Aided Firefighting machine (TAF 20).

Mullins was quoted as saying by abc.net.au: "It can be remotely operated up to 500 metres away and sent into situations where it is too dangerous for firefighters, which is a huge advantage as the safety of firefighters is my highest priority."

"It also has a bulldozer blade which can clear obstacles like cars during a tunnel incident, or debris following an explosion," he said.
