Bengal polls: ECI removes four police officials in Kolkata South , South 24 Parganas
Kolkata, Apr 27 (IBNS): Ahead of the 5th phase of West Bengal assembly polls, the ECI removed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of 3 police stations and one Sub-Divisional Police Officer on Tuesday, officials said.
Malay Basu, OC, Panchasayar PS, Kolkata, Subhasish Bhattacharya, OC, Kasba PS, Kolkata, Surya Shankar Mondal, OC, Jibantala PS, South 24 Parganas and Asesh Bikram Dastidar, SDPO, Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas have been removed.
Election in South 24 Parganas, Hooghly and Kolkata South districts will be conducted on Apr 30.
At least 680 companies CPF and 26000 state police personnel will provide security in the area that day, ECI confirmed.
The ECI has removed 65 administrative and police officials, including Kolkata Police Commissioner, so far.
