Delhi murder: Killed girlfriend in 'hit of the moment', Aaftab Poonawala tells court
New Delhi: Twenty-eight-year-old man Aaftab Ameen Poonawala, who is accused of murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar, has admitted to a Delhi court that he killed his girlfriend "in the hit of the moment", media reports said.
Aaftab is accused of killing, chopping off Shraddha's body into 35 parts, storing them in a refrigerator and later dumping them across the city.
The Saket court in Delhi on Tuesday extended Aaftab's police custody for four more days after he was produced before it through video conferencing.
Reportedly, Aaftab is cooperating with police and also handed over to them maps of the location where he dumped the body parts.
Aaftab, who had met his partner Shraddha Walkar in an online dating app, moved together to a place in Delhi's Mehrauli in May this year.
Aaftab reportedly killed her after an argument broke out between the two on May 18.
Being inspired by the television show Dexter, the accused then bought a saw and a 300-litre refrigerator to store the 35 pieces for 18 days.
