Delhi murder: Police arrest 5 people, detains 2
New Delhi, Jan 14 (IBNS) Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested five and detained two persons in connection with a triple murder case which took place on Sunday.
In a press release, Delhi Police said, "With the arrest of seven dreaded criminals namely 1. Rajan Singh @ Abhishek r/o Madipur 2. Rajendra Singh @ Raju r/o Wajirpur, 3. Sanjay Kumar r/o Wajirpur JJColony 4. Harender r/o Bulandshahar, UP and 5. Ram Kishore r/o Bulandshahar, UP and two juveniles, the Central District Police team has solved the triple murder case of PS Rajinder Nagar."
The release further said that the Police department received an information about a mother and son being trapped in a building in the city's Old Rajinder Nagar.
Upon reaching the place the police found the place ransacked and recovered the bodies of the murdered.
"At 9.52 AM on 10.1.2016, an information was receive that PS Rajinder Nagar that at H. No. 6/72, IIIrd floor, Old Rajinder Nagar, a woman and her son are lying unconscious in their room with their hands tied.Immediately, team of PS Rajinder Nagar rushed to the spot. It was found that the bodies of 1) Jyoti w/o Sanjay, aged 45 yrs. and her son (2) Pawan s/o Sanjay Kumar aged 22 yrs, both r/o the said address were lying in a room in suspicious condition. Also the house was found completely ransacked."
"During search,the body of Jyoti’s husband, one Sanjay Kumar s/o Lalu Ram was also found stuffed in one cupboard in another room. The deceased was stuffed in the cupboard in sitting position facing inside and his neck was found tied with apiece of gamchha. Immediately, a case FIR no. 10/16 u/s 302 IPC was lodged at PS Rajinder Nagar and the investigation was taken up."
After more than 60 hours of investigation, they made the arrests from several places of the city.
"After painstaking and incessant effort of more than 60 hours, the team of Central District made a breakthrough on 12/01/2016with arrest of above seven persons from various places in Delhi and UP," the release read.
Post interrogation, the police said that the killer and the victim, Sanjay were jail mates and after the latter boasted of his financial success, it later lead to his death.
