Demonetisation protests : Opposition forces multiple adjournments in RS, LS adjourned for day
New Delhi, Nov 17 (IBNS) : Opposition parties, led by the Congress, on Thursday, forced multiple adjournments in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as the demonetisation issue kicked up a storm in Parliament.
In th Upper House, Opposition members raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his government's decision to demonetise Rs 500, Rs 1,000 notes.
Lok Sabha also witnessed an utter chaos as members discussed illegal mining, whereas many members of the Opposition demanded a debate on note ban.
The Government refused to give in to the demand and the Lower House was adjourned till Friday.
Continuous ruckus led to adjournment also in the Rajya Sabha till l 3 pm after Opposition members create ruckus in the floor again.
The House had already been adjourned twice in the day.
After the Rajya Sabha resumes at 2 pm, opposition demands that Prime Minister be present for discussion on demonetisation.
They began to shout slogans against the Prime Minister, making proceeding extremely difficult.
The Parliament continued with proceedings on the second day of its winter session.
On the first day Parliament had witnessed a heated discussion in the Rajya Sabha amongst leaders of various political parties on the issue.
