Explosion rocks Kabul

Kabul, Aug 1 (IBNS): A Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) was detonated in Afghanistan capital Kabul as a massive explosion rocked the city on Monday, media reports said.

The explosion reportedly occurred close to the North Gate compound near police district 9.

The place is frequently visited by foreigners.

Afghanistan's security forces have reached the spot.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

"The Taliban group claimed responsibility behind the attack and said a coordinated attack has been launched on a guesthouse of the foreigners in the city," Khaam Press reported.
