Four killed in Uttarakhand landslides as heavy rain lashes North India

New Delhi, Jul 11 (IBNS) Four people were killed in landslides in Uttarakhand as heavy rain pounded a major part of North India for the last two days causing alarming rise in the water levels of most of the rivers in the region.

Reports said  Delhi received torrential rain overnight, causing waterlogging in several areas.
 
The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain for Saturday.
 
Heavy rainfall for two days  was reported from . Chamole, Nainital, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Pitoragarh in Uttarakhand causing landslides in Madkot, Pauri, Dharchula and Kappkot in which four people were killed. 

The Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in  Haridwar while the  Ramganga, Nandhur, Kailash, Kali-Sharda, Kosi and the Gaula are maintaining a rising trend.
