From Swachh Bharat to Baba Ramdev, Congress points finger at BJP
New Delhi, Nov 18 (IBNS) The Indian National Congress on Wednesday took on the BJP government through a series of tweets, raising several issues, including Baba Ramdev's noodles and intolerance.
In one of their tweets, the Congress wrote: "VP Shri Hamid Ansari talks about "emergence of a propensity for intolerance". Are you listening @narendramodi?"
They also called the Swachh Bharat cess ill-conceived.
"Swachh Bharat cess is "ill-conceived and badly timed," and goes against the idea of fiscal federalism."
Congress had earlier tweeted that Baba Ramdev's property have allegedly swelled up to 150 per cent under the Modi government.
In a fresh attack, the party took on Ramdev's noodles.
"Baba Ramdev's noodles have no approval - FSSAI. Will health min pls explain this?Govt cant play with people's health."
Highlighting their own progress in other Congress ruled states, it said that their party was the sign of true progress.
Heaping praises on Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh for his 'good-governance', the party tweeted: "Congress shows the way. Proud of Himachal Pradesh govt's achievement. @virbhadrasingh #CongressMeansProgress ."
The party also alleged that under Modi's regime India has fallen out of favour in the Asian market.
"Under Shri @narendramodi India has fallen out of favor among emerging market & Asian fund managers."
Their barrage continued when it attacked the incumbent SAD-BJP Punjab government, calling it insensitive.
"In BJP-SAD run Punjab, old-age pension not paid to 1 lakh beneficiaries. Can expect such insensitivity only from BJP ."
The BJP too came out in the defence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom the Congress took to the cleaners for his visit to other countries, alleging the decline of exports since his frequent visits.
The BJP wrote: "Some congress leaders are seeking undue importance by visiting a foreign soil & condemning their own PM."
