Gujarat "encounter cop" DG Vanzara walks out of jail
Ahmadabad, Feb 18 (IBNS): Former Gujarat IPS officer DG Vanzara, who was recently granted bail by the Ahmedabad CBI court in connection the Ishrat Jahan encounter case, walked out of the jail on Wednesday.
"I got justice from the courts so I think acche din are back for me and other police officers," he was quoted saying on NDTV as he left the Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad
The bail was granted in the condition that he will not enter Gujarat.
Vanzara is one of the accused in the Ishrat Jahan, Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter cases.
He resigned from the police force in September 2013 after alleging that then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi protected his close aide and now BJP President Amit Shah at the cost of the police officers.
Vanzara had earlier said in a letter that officers like him were made to suffer in jail even after being "loyal" to the government and blamed Modi for not helping these cops.
