Hindustani classical singer Kishori Amonkar dies, aged 84; PM Modi condoles loss
New Delhi, Apr 4 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of Indian Classical singer Kishori Amonkar.
Amonkar, 84, passed away on Monday, following a brief illness.
"Demise of Kishori Amonkar is an irreparable loss to Indian classical music. Deeply pained by her demise. May her soul rest in peace," the Prime Minister's tweet read.
"The works of Kishori Amonkar will always remain popular among people for years to come," an ensuing tweet read.
