Indrani Mukherjea may be charged with attempted murder of son
Mumbai, Aug 31 (IBNS) Indrani Mukerjea, accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, may also face charges of attempting to murder her son Mikhael, media reports said.
She will be produced in a court in Mumbai on Monday along with two other accused, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyam Rai.
Mukerjea, who co-founded a broadcasting group INX with her husband Peter Mukerjea, was arrested a week ago for allegedly killing Sheena Bora, who she had presented to others as her sister.
Indrani has blamed the murder on her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, who has also been arrested from Kolkata. The exact motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained.
Call records establish that the two were in touch in the days leading up to the murder and also establish their presence in Mumbai's Bandra on April 24, 2012, the day Sheena was murdered inside a moving car.
Indrani's son Mikhael Bora has alleged that she made an attempt to kill him as well which she denied.
Indrani on the other hand, alleged that Mikhael was trying to extort money from her.
Mikhael, 24, is being questioned by the Mumbai Police at an undisclosed location to understand the troubled relationship the siblings shared with their mother.
Media reports says Sanjeev Khanna has said that he was led to believe there was a threat to the life of Vidhie - Indrani and his daughter - and that Sheena and her brother Mikhael planned to kill her.
Vidhie was adopted by Peter Mukherjee, whose son from a previous marriage was having an affiar with Sheena Bora.
The police have recovered suitcases used to dump Sheena's body from the garage of Peter Mukerjea's house.
On Monday, , a police team will also go to Silchar in Assam to track Sidhartha Das, who is said to be Indrani Mukerjea's first husband, and possibly the father of Sheena Bora and Mikhael.
