Italy earthquake: Death toll touches 247
Rome, Aug 25 (IBNS): At least 247 people were reported dead in the massive earthquake that rocked Italy on Wednesday, media reports said on Thursday.
Country's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was quoted as saying by ANSA: "It will take a long time to handle this emergency."
As per the USGS website, the epicentre of the quake was located South-East of Norcia at latitude 42.714 degrees north and longitude 13.172 degrees east.
The quake was felt at 1:36 UTC.
The quake hit at a depth of 10km (six miles), USGS website said.
