Kolkata, Dec 5 (IBNS): Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, under the aegis of JIS Group Educational Initiatives hosted the Corporate Pulse recently, with an engrossing and lively session with Vicky Ray, an internationally acclaimed speaker and cyber threat intelligence expert.

Corporate Pulse 2016 is an effort by JIS Group to meet the confluence of frontiers of latest innovations and techno commercial practices at the global frame of reference by intensive interactions between the technocrats and business leaders & the students.  

In an economy driven by the digitized systems, security and cyber intelligence is a prime concern. 

Today the concepts of hacking, malware, encrypted security systems are percolating down to the common end users. Starting from the corporate houses to Governments, all are particularly serious about the threat of compromised computer systems.

Ray, Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst, Palo Alto Networks, Unit 42 elucidated the whole universe of Offensive and Defensive Techniques of Digital Security systems. 

He took all in an exhaustive tour in the world of his research and business experiences in the functional domain of cyber treat intelligence. 

Himself being a big fan of Science Fiction,  Ray took anecdotes from science fiction to real incidents of security breaches in Government systems explained the techniques of seeding malware and the concepts of hacking with an intentional focus on the ethical side of the practices. 

He presented case by case analysis of the patterns of malware spreading in systems over time scale through a graphic multimedia presentation.

Answering questions from students and faculties Vicky Ray enumerated the concepts of Underground Forums, Antivirus developments and Open Source forums for Ethical Hackers, to tools to deal with such systems.
