JNU: 14 cops transferred over varsity ruckus
New Delhi, Feb 17 (IBNS) As the protests thickens at the JNU campus due to the arrest of their student leader on sedition charges, 14 senior Delhi cops have been transferred, according to reports.
Reports have also claimed that the Supreme Court is likely to take up a petition by JNU students, who have alleged foul play by police.
The petition says that the police were inactive in stopping violence even though they were present in front the Patiala House, where the students were allegedly manhandled by a group of lawyers.
A group of journalists, who also sustained injuries have reportedly submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court, demanding action within 48 hours. They also met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
