Kashmir: Security forces cordon off over 20 villages in Shopian
Srinagar, Apr 4 (IBNS) : Security forces on Thursday morning cordoned off more than 20 villages in Shopian of SouthKashmir as part of a major crackdown following spurt in militant activities, police said.
According to a police official, the search operation has been launched to neutralise suspected militants in the district. .
“20 villages, including Sugan and Turkuwangan which are base camps for militants, have been cordoned off and we have orders from the higher authorities to flush out them from South Kashmir,” the army official told India Blooms in Srinagar.
"We will not harm any civilian during the search operation and our priority is to save public property, the official added.
