Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha adjourned indefinitely on last day of Budget session
New Delhi, Apr 6 (IBNS): The budget session of the parliament ended on Friday with the adjournment of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha indefinitely due to the ruckus by opposition parties, media reports said.
Both the houses were adjourned within 15 minutes of the commencement of proceedings on Friday.
The second phase of the budget session, which began on Mar 5, was devoid of any business due to the disruptions created by several opposition parties.
The no-confidence motions, brought by the Telegu Desam Party (TDP), the YSR Congress, the Congress and the Left, against the government, could not be tabled due to the ruckus.
The two houses could barely work for an hour each day in the second phase of the session.
The opposition parties, mostly AIADMK and TDP, have been protesting against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government on a number of issues, ranging from Cauvery river water to Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam.
The BJP MPs have already declared that they will not receive the salaries for the washout days.
