LS Speaker orders 9-member panel probe into Mann video row
New Delhi, July 25 (IBNS): Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday said a nine member panel with probe into the action of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann who shot and uploaded in social media a video of his journey to Parliament to show security lapses in the high-security zone, earning the wrath of almost entire Parliament.
Mann has been also asked to give a reply on the matter by Tuesday.
Mahajan said the probe will look into the security aspect of the action of Mann. She said breach of parliamentary security is a serious issue.
Earlier Mann had said: "I have sought unconditional apology and have given a letter to the Speaker too. My intention was never to expose the Parliament to security risk."
He said it was a mistake but he has sought apology. He also, however, said the BJP was trying to give the issue a different colour.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who had summoned Mann, earlier said action will be taken against him.
The AAP leader had uploaded the 11-minute clip on social media that raised questions over the safety of lawmakers.
However, Mann has rejected any security concerns that might be a result of his video footage.
