Luminaries pay rich tributes to APJ Abdul Kalam
New Delhi, Jul 28 (IBNS) Politicial luminaries and celebrities joined the nation in paying rich tributes to former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who died in Shillong on Monday.
Following are the remarks which poured in through formal messages and tweeter :
President Pranab Mukherjee : As president of India, Dr. Kalam was immensely popular and greatly admired. His warmth, humility and simple ways endeared him to one and all. He had a special love for children and sought to constantly inspire the youth of our country through motivational speeches and personal interaction.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi : India mourns the loss of a great scientist, a wonderful President & an inspiring individual.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh : In his death, our country has lost a great human being who made phenomenal contribution to the promotion of self reliance in defence technologies. I worked very closely with Dr. Kalam as Prime Minister and I greatly benefitted from his advice as President of our country.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh : The death of Dr. Kalam is an irreparable loss to this nation. He has left a big void hard to fill. I deeply mourn his death.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was people's President. My homage to the great soul.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal : V sad to hear that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is no more. Nation has lost a real Bharat ratna.
