Madras HC suggests Centre to consider castration of child rapists
Chennai, Oct 26 (IBNS): In a bid to end the menace of child rape, the Madras High Court has recently suggested the Centre to consider castration as punishment for such offenders.
The order was passed by Justice N Kirubakaran recently.
The court said it cannot remain a silent spectator.
Pronouncing the order, N Kirubakaran said castration is likely to fetch 'magical' results.
New Delhi has witnessed several such crimes this month.
A 4-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour at a railway colony near Lawrence Road in northwest Delhi earlier this month.
In another case, a two-and-a-half year old girl was raped allegedly by two men who abducted her from outside her house in west Delhi's Nangloi area.
In the third incident on the same day, a five-year-old was raped allegedly by three men in east Delhi's Anand Vihar area. The girl was reportedly alone at home when a neighbours of theirs took her to his house and then allegedly raped her along with his friends.
The other neighbours saw her coming out of the accused's house and informed the police.
