Mehbooba Mufti meets Modi over Kashmir problem, PM talks reconciliation
New Delhi, Apr 22 (IBNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for talks over the deteriorating security situation in the state that has caused concern for the ruling PDP-BJP alliance, reports said.
The meeting, looking for a solution to the problem, took place and Modi's 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence in the capital.
Following the meeting, Mufti told media that she had discussed with Modi the record low turnout in the recently held Srinagar bypolls, and the security situation in the state.
Mufti said Modi told her that he would follow in the footsteps of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee for reconciliation instead of confrontation.
Ahead of her meeting with the Prime Minister, Mehbooba also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other top officials including NSA Ajit Doval and IB director.
