Musharraf allowed to leave Pakistan
Karachi, June 12 (IBNS) A Karachi court on Thursday allowed former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf to leave the country.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered the Pakistan government to remove Musharraf´s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
"The court has allowed our appeal and ordered to strike down Musharraf´s name from the Exit Control List. The order will be executed after 15 days," Musharraf’s lawyer Farogh Naseem was quoted as saying by Geo News.
Musharraf sought his travel ban be lifted to visit his sick mother in Dubai.
Musharraf returned to Pakistan in March last year after years of self-exile in the UK.
He rose to power in Pakistan in a coup in 1999. He had stepped down from the power in 2008 and was threatened with impeachment, which resulted in his self-exile.
