NEET Official Notification to be Announced Soon. Check Out the Important Details
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon be releasing the official notification regarding National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). This notification is expected to be released by the end of January, 2018.
It will be made available on the official website of NEET i.e. cbseneet.nic.in. You need to keep checking this website to know about the various details of NEET undergraduate paper.
The online mode application form for NEET 2018 will also be made available on the official website after the declaration of official notification by CBSE. The tentative date of releasing the NEET 2018 application form is January 31, 2018.
NEET 2018 is scheduled to take place on May 10, 2018. If you are also an aspirant of NEET 2018 like lakhs of others, you must be curious about the details of the exam.
When there are a few days left for declaration of the official notification, this article brings information related to NEET that you must know.
Who All Can Apply for NEET 2018
Before applying for the exam, the aspirants should fulfill all the eligibility criteria mentioned below
You should have passed class 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology subjects with at least 50% qualifying marks for appearing in NEET 2018. For the candidates belonging to the reserved classes, the requirement of qualifying marks is 40%.
The same for Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates, it is 45%. In case you are appearing in class 12th exams in 2018, then also you are eligible to apply. You, however, will be required to prove the qualifying marks in class 12th at the time of your counselling.
You are allowed for only three attempts in NEET. So, if you have already appeared in NEET for three times earlier, you could not apply. Your age should be at least 17 years to be eligible for NEET.
The good news is that the upper age limit criteria for appearing in NEET has been eliminated this time. This provision must have given a great sigh of relief to many candidates. Earlier, the upper age limit was restricted to 25 years for the candidates willing to apply.
Paper Pattern of NEET 2018
NEET 2018 will take place in offline mode or paper and pen-based mode andyou need to attempt 180 questions in 3 hours.
There will be multiple-choice questions. The questions will be covered from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology subjects of class 11th and 12th syllabus.
Each of these subjects will be of 180 marks, so the whole exam will be of 720 marks. You will be awarded four marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The question paper will be in 8 languages - Hindi, English, Tamil, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Telugu and Marathi.
How to Apply for NEET 2018?
You will be able to fill NEET 2018 application form only through the official website. You also must ensure your eligibility before applying for NEET 2018 so as to avoid the later rejections.
To fill NEET application form, you need to visit cbseneet.nic.in. Then click the ‘NEET 2018 Registration’ link on the home page.
Afterwards, fill all the necessary details like personal particulars, contact details, domicile and qualifications. Note that it will be mandatory for Indian citizens to provide Aadhaar card number in NEET application form. The board will use it to authenticate the identity of the applicants.
Also, the students from Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya are excluded from this requirement. If they opt to get examination center in their states only, it is fine for them to provide with bank account number, ration card number, passport number or any other valid identity number issued by the government of India or state.
So, if you do not have an Aadhaar card, you must apply for the same through one of the Aadhaar enrollment centers.
In case you have already applied for Aadhaar card, and would not receive the same till the last date of NEET 2018 online application, you may provide the 14-digit Aadhaar Enrolment Id, including the slash “/”.
You will also be required to upload the scanned images of signature, photograph and index finger impression in JPEG format prescribed. Then make the fee payment using the online or offline mode.
On successful payment, the acknowledgement screen will appear. Make sure you take the printout of the acknowledgement page of the application form and keep it safe for further use.
