NIA announces Rs. seven lakh on information on NSCN(K) chief Khaplang

New Delhi, Sept 10 (IBNS) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday announced a cash reward of Rs 7 lakh to any information leading to the arrest of NSCN-K chief SS Khaplang, reports said.

The agency also declared a cash award of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to arrest of the commander of the armed wing of the insurgent group, Niki Sumi.

NSCN(K) broke out from a ceasefire in March. It  has been involved in a series of attacks in tandem with some other terrorist groups under the banner of an umbrella group 'United Liberation Front of South East Asia'.

The group  is responsible for killing  18 Indian  soldiers in an ambush of a military convoy on June 4 in Chandel district of Manipur.
