
Obama urges US citizens to stop gun violence
Washington, Jan 6 (IBNS) Gun violence is one of the major issues plaguing the US right now, something President Obama wants to stop, calling it a phenomenon that makes him mad whenever he thinks about the lives lost due to the same, according to reports.
Speaking on curbing gun violence on Tuesday, President Obama said, "Anybody in the business of selling firearms must get a license and conduct background checks or be subject to criminal prosecution."
Obama said that not all crimes can be stopped by some can be prevented and one must do so.
"We know we cannot stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world, but maybe we could stop one act of evil one act of violence."
The US President said that the county is going to hire more people to process applications faster.
"We're gonna hire more folks to process applications faster. We're gonna do more to help those suffering from mental illness."
Obama also said that he is going to boost gun safety technology.
In his concluding speech, the US President spoke about the lives lost due to gun violence and said that it makes him mad thinking about them.
