Opposition leaders in a huddle in Delhi to decide on its candidate for the Vice-President of India elections

New Delhi, Jul 11 (IBNS): While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce its candidate for the upcoming vice-president election, the Opposition parties are holding a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday to evolve their strategy for the same, according to media reports.

The Opposition is likely to announce its candidate at the end of Tuesday's meeting.
 
Congress president Sonia Gandhi convened this meeting where NCP, RJD, Left, TMC, SP, BSP, DMK and others were invited.
 
Although JD-U chief, Bihar chief minister did not join the meeting, the party's veteran leader Sharad Pawar is attending it, media reported.
 
The election for the post of Vice President of India is scheduled to take place on August 5, 2017.
