Parliament set to witness another infructuous day today

New Delhi, Jul 23 (IBNS) The third day of the monsoons session of Parliament is likely to go waste as it happened on the first two days with no sign being in sight for a rapprochement between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress, fighting an unrelenting battle.

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been facing repeated disruptions and the houses are unable to keep up scheduled business because of Opposition's ruckus in Parliament over the Lalit Modi issue and Vyapam scam.

Congress MPs on Wednesday shouted slogans, wore black bands and waved anti-Modi posters as  they continued their demand for the resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the Lalit Modi row.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley accused the opposition for not allowing a discussion in the House, accusing it of being unprepared.

Following the adjournment of both Houses of Parliament for the day on Wednesday, the BJP sought to turn the tables on Congress over corruption, as it came out with a series of allegations against Congress leaders.

The ruling party released a video claiming to expose Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's alleged nexus with the state's liquor mafia. In the video, Rawat's personal secretary was allegedly seen seeking bribe from liquor mafia. Harish Rawat, however, denied all charges.
