PM Modi extends wishes to Pak counterpart, ahead of latter's open heart surgery
New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, extended his wishes to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, ahead of the latter's open heart surgery.
Sharif, who is in London, will undergo surgery on Tuesday, reports said.
Tweeting a message to Sharif's daughter about her father's recovery, Modi said, "My best wishes to PM Nawaz Sharif Sahab for his open heart surgery on Tuesday. And for his speedy recovery & good health. @MaryamNSharif."
Earlier, on Friday, Pakistani Defence Minister Khwaja Asif acknowledged the development and told media that the Prime Minister will remain in London for a week post his surgery.
He was quoted in the media as saying, "The prime minister will travel after one week, on doctor's permission."
