New Delhi, Nov 22 (IBNS) : As the opposition parties cry hoarse, vowing to build up a movement against demonetisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday went straight to the people, seeking their opinion on the move in a survey.

"I want your first hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes.Take part in the survey on the NM App," Modi twitted.

The App-nm4.in/dnldapp- invites people to rate the decision to ban the 1,000 and 500 rupee notes that has invited bouquets as well as brickbats.

Modi's appeal to the people to speak out on his move came shortly after he discussed the situation with his party MPs amid a joint opposition by rival forces.

BJP lawmakers supported Modi on this decision to demonetize 500 and 1,000-rupee notes.

Earlier, hitting out the BJP-led NDA government in Centre over demonetisation issue, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced to hold rallies in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab against Narendra Modi's decision of scrapping 500/1000 rupees notes.

Mamata Banerjee demonstrated over demonetisation in the national capital with Arvind Kejriwal and complained to the President of India- Pranab Mukherjee- with Shiv Sena leadership.

Congress also slammed the BJP on the issue with its vice-president Rahul Gandhi saying that it would help the people close to Modi.
