Primarc and Salarpuria Group invest In DriversKart
Kolkata/Chennai, Apr 21 (IBNS) Kolkata entrepreneurs, Siddharth Pansari and Apurva Salarpuria, recently announced their Pre-Series A funding in Chennai-based online driver solution application, DriversKart.
India’s first multi-city drivers aggregation company, DriversKart provides real-time personal drivers so that you can travel in the comfort of your own car.
The deal was led by Primarc Iventure on behalf of Kolkata investors (Apurva Salarpuria, Ayush Patni, and Saket Agarwal) in consortium with Lead Angels, ah! Ventures and Namit Agarwal, a Silicon Valley investor.
The driver hiring market in India is a highly disorganised sector in India. Also, with no proper background checks, hiring drivers from local agencies can also be a security hassle.
Led by the founders Vinit Srivastava -- an IIM Calcutta alumni, and Saksham -- an IIT Mandi alumni, DriversKart aims to be a pioneer in online driver solution.
DriversKart is India’s first organized on-demand personal chauffeur service. It offers on-demand service with cost-effective, real time pricing.
So whether it is a late night party, an emergency or a hospital visit, a drop to or pick-up from the airport, or any other occasion where you are not likely to drive or your own driver has not arrived, you can safely use DriversKart and its team of highly-trained and verified drivers.
The booking process is easy with facilities such as availability of driver profiles, customer feedback and mutli-city presence.
DriversKart constantly focuses on product development and expansion of business.
The funds raised shall be utilised to
• Enahance and upgrade technology,
• Better driver’s training and onboarding model,
• Building a stronger team and
• Marketing & Business Development.
Driver’sKart currently with 20 employees operates effectively in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. It has commenced operations in Delhi from April 1, 2016.
The company also operates in B2B model, servicing established businesses including hotels, car hire agencies, travel agents, hospitals and so on.
With these funds, the company aims to reach over 10000 rides a day within 12 months.
While talking about the investment, lead investor Sidharth Pansari said, “I feel it is an excellent growth opportunity in today’s market with so many unused vehicles. This will promote effective use of resources and also create huge employment opportunities in the semi skilled space. This service will provide real-time personal drivers for short and long durations. DriversKart has the potential to be a huge disruptor in the car hire, taxi segment”.
Apurva Salarpuria added, “This will be of immense benefit to those consumers who need drivers occasionally and at odd times or on an urgent basis.”
Namit Agarwal said, “Being chauffeur driven is soon going to be a necessity for those who value their time and peace of mind. DriversKart aims to address this need through their disruptive offering - India’s first driver subscription service through their verified and trained drivers.”
