Rahul Gandhi meets families of men killed in Punjab firing
Chandigarh, Nov 5 (IBNS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met the families of two men who were killed in police firing last month during a protest against the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhs, reports said.
Accompanied by Punjab Congress President Pratap Singh Bajwa and other local party leaders, Rahul undertook a padayatra after meeting the family. He is also scheduled to attend a prayer meeting at a gurdwara in Bargari village of Faridkot district where the incident took place.
The two men were killed in police firing when the Sikhs were protesting on October 14.
Rahul will also meet the farmers in Bathinda district during his two-day visit.
