RBI chief Urjit Patel not likely to meet the media after board meeting in Kolkata
Kolkata, Dec 15 (IBNS): Rserve Bank of India governor, Urjit Patel, who arrived in Kolkata on Thursday, is likely to meet West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra, media reported.
Patel is in Kolkata to attend the RBI's central board meeting.
According to reports, in a departure from usual practice, the RBI governor will not address the media after Thursday’s board meeting in Kolkata.
The ruling Trinamool Congress Party, led by the state's chief minister Mamata Banerjee has been protesting against the sudden implementation of the demonetisation scheme.
The Left Front too had been mulling to protest against the scheme during the RBI chief's visit to the city, media reported.
