RSS-Modi difference surfaces over BJPs LS win?

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IBNS): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday gave credits to people for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)s victory in the crucial 2014 Lok Sabha election.

The statement came from the BJP’s ideological mentor body a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attributed election results to the party’s newly-appointed chief Amit Shah who is also known to be his close aide.

Bhagwat on Sunday said the party won the election as the common people wanted a regime change.

“Some people say the success was due to the party. Others say it was because of some individuals. This change was not due to some individual, party or organisation. The common people wanted this. The same individuals and the party existed earlier also. Why were not they voted to power then?” he said at an event in Bhuvaneswar.

Earlier on Saturday, Modi had said at the party’s national council meeting that Amitbhai Shah was the man of the match for BJP’s victory under the captainship of Rajnath Singh in 2014 LS polls.

Shah was one of the party’s key strategists who led the campaign in Uttar Pradesh, India's most politically vibrant state with as many as 80 LS seats out of which BJP had bagged total 71 this general election.
