Sachin meets Modi, says keen to adopt village
New Delhi, Oct 16 (IBNS): Former Indian cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed his keenness to adopt a village under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).
Sachin Tendulkar apprised the Prime Minister of his contribution towards the Swachh Bharat initiative, in response to the Prime Minister`s invitation to him on October 2nd. He also informed the Prime Minister that he had extended the chain by inviting others to participate. Tendulkar said he looked forward to adopting a village under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. He also expressed keenness to work towards development of sports in schools and colleges.
Sachin was accompanied by his wife Anjali Tendulkar.
