Sena not taken with PM Modis soft stand on Balasaheb
Mumbai, Oct 6 (IBNS): Once a long-term ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Shiv Sena is not very convinced with Prime Minister Narendra Modis statement that he would not target the Sena during his campaign because of his deep respect for party founder Balasaheb Thackeray.
“Where was this respect when the alliance ended over seat-sharing?” asked an editorial piece published in the Sena mouthpiece on Monday.
The grand alliance between both the parties which blossomed in 1989 during the time of former Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee and deceased Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray ended last month over a disputed seat-sharing agreement ahead of the crucial Maharashtra Assembly election scheduled on October 15.
