Shashi Tharoors Inglorious Empire unveiled in London
London/Kolkata, Mar 9 (IBNS): The British edition of Dr Shashi Tharoors latest book Inglorious Empire (An Era of Darkness) was formally unveiled at a function in London by Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Y K Sinha.
The launch of the Book in London was hosted by Vidyapath, one of the newest platforms on British art and cultural scene, in collaboration with Prabha Khaitan Foundation of Kolkata.
Sundeep Bhutoria of Prabha Khaitan Foundation, welcoming the guests before the release of the book, said that with this event, Prabha Khaitan Foundation has collaborated for the first time to promote Indian art, culture and literature in London.
As a run up to the launch, there were many debates and discussions on the the Book across the United Kingdom. In India also the Book has set the social media abuzz with discussions, debates and rave reviews.

Y K Sinha, was the chief guest at the launch function which was moderated by Anita Anand. The speakers were in the august company of several dignitaries including Lord Swraj Paul, Lord Matt Ridley, Lord Meghnad Desai, Lord Jitesh Gadhia and the who’s who of London.
Y K Sinha, on the occasion, referred to the importance of young Indians’ understanding and perspective of Indian history. He said that while the history of British colonialism in India should be acknowledged, the two countries should look towards a bright and shared future.
The audience were then treated to a highly topical discussion between Dr Tharoor and Anita Anand, a British radio and television presenter, that covered not only the core argument expressed in the Inglorious Empire but also its relevance to the contemporary Indo-British relations. This was followed by an invitation for the audience to participate in the debate through a question and answer session.
Founders of Vidyapath, Shivani Sethia and Pooja Maru, gave the vote of thanks.
