Jaipur, known as Pink City, is a charming place to live with its unique architecture, a rich heritage and culture. Presently, it is one of Indias largest higher education hub.

In this article, we are going to look at some of the best B.Tech colleges in Jaipur and why it is an obvious choice for many B.Tech aspirants. In the recent years, this course has attracted students from various parts of India. This is same for other professional studies, also. At the same time, the huge number of colleges and private universities for B.Tech programs, does justice to the increased demand from students, along with promising quality education.

 

Headed in a new direction, this year, Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) decided to introduce human values and environmental engineering and disaster management as compulsory subjects in the first year of B.Tech course. The main purpose is to inculcate ethical values and increased social awareness among engineering students.

 

Following are the top 10 B.Tech colleges in Jaipur, along with their important criterion to get admission.

 

 

1.JECRCUniversity

 

This university was established in the year 2012. It is UGC recognized. Innovation-led research studies and subject-specific explorations, are often encouraged at JECRC university. It has been ranked 411 at all India level, out of 700 plus engineering colleges.

 

The B.Tech program here is offered under the School of Engineering. It also includes B.Tech- Lateral program.  Bothincludes 5 specializations namely; Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication Engineering.

 

For admissions, 10th and12th pass with 55% marks in all subjects is mandatory. A compulsorily pass in English, Physics & Mathematics and one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational Subjects from a recognizedboard or equivalentis required. Candidates from SC/ ST/ State OBC (non-creamy layer) and women categorygets 5% relaxation.

 

The first preference is usually given to candidates on merit basis based on their JEE Main score card conducted by CBSE.

 

For B.Tech- Lateral entry

·        A Diploma pass from any AICTE approved institution with 50% marks is mandatory.Candidates from SC/ ST/ State OBC (Non-creamy layer) and women category will get 5% relaxation.

·        B.Sc. Degree from any UGC recognized university with 50% marks is mandatory. Applicants from SC/ ST/ State OBC (Non-creamy layer) and women category will get 5% relaxation provided one has passed 10+2 with mathematics as a subject.

·        Diploma holders and B.Sc holders are eligible for admission to second year of B.Tech course on merit basis in JEE Main, considering all subjects.

 

Moving further, Pre-placement trainings are often conducted for students. About 80% of the students were placed in the 2016-17 batch of students at JECRC University.

2) Global Institute of Technology (GIT)

 

This college was established in 2002 by Global Institute of Technology Society.It is UGC recognized, ISO certified, AICTE approved and affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

 

The B.Tech program at GIT offers 6 specializations,namely, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication and Electronics Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

 

A 10+2 pass with Physics / Maths and one subject from Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Technical Vocational Subjects with 45% in the above subject combination from a recognized board / university is a must.  The results of JEE Main and REAP exams is another main criterion.

 

On course completion, the students are offered an average package about 2 lakhs during placements.

3) Poornima College of Engineering

 

This engineering college, one of the main college of Poornima Group of Colleges, was established in the year 2000. Currently it is ranked 7thamong B.Tech colleges in Jaipur. It is affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University and approved by AICTE and MHRD.

 

The B.Tech program hereoffers 6 specializations,namely; Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication  Engineering.Admissions are offered on the basis of JEE(Main) score card. With this score card,candidates also have to apply for Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP).

 

A 10+2 pass or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Also,any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject with 45% marks in each of these subjects is mandatory. The requirement is 40% for those from reserved category.

 

B.Tech- Lateral is also offered here. The criteria are:

 

·        Diploma pass with 45% marks and 40% for candidates from reserved category.

·        B.Sc. Degree with 45% marks and 40% forreserved category and 12th pass with mathematics as subject. Students from this stream should clear subjects of Engineering Graphics/Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of first year of engineering along with second year subjects.

 

On course completion, the students are offered an average package about 4 lakhs.

4)Malaviya National Institute of Technology

 

This public college was established in 1963. In June 26, 2002, it was given the status of National Institute of Technology. Presently, it is funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is also ranked1st among all B.Tech colleges in Jaipur.

 

The B.Tech program at MNIT consists of 7 specializations; Chemical, Computer, Civil , Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Materials, Electronics and Communication engineering.

 

With regards to admission, 10+2 pass or equivalent board with 75% marks is must. For SC/ST students, 65% at 10+2 level is a must. The first preference is given to candidates on merit based on their score in JEE Main.

 

MNIT has a record of good placements and an average package of 7 lakhs is offered to students on course completion.

5) Jaipur National University

 

The Jaipur National university was established in 2007. It is UGC recognized and consists of 13 schools. It has secured 13th position among all B.Tech colleges in Jaipur. In 2014, it was ranked as

India’s Best University by India Today.

 

The B.Tech program at JNU offers the following specializations; Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication,  Electrical, Food technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering.

 

Candidates must be 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board.  Candidates are then evaluated on merit based on their JEE Main score.

 

An average package of 3.5 lakhs is offered on completion of course during college placements.

 

Reviews: The process of providing eligible students with scholarship every year is most appreciated by students. Apart from this, hostel, infrastructural facilities and placement process are other feathers to the cap at JNU.

 

 

6) The LNM Institute of Information Technology

 

The LNM Institute of Information Technologyis a deemed university, established in the year 2003. Presently, it has been given the 4th position among B.Tech colleges in Jaipur.

 

Here, the B.Tech specializations offered are in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Communication and Computer, Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Mechatronics and Automotive Engineering.

 

Admission is on the basis of JEE Main scores. Apart from this, candidates should be 10+2 pass or equivalent in relevant discipline with 60% marks.

 

An average package of 13 lakhs is offered initially on completion of course during campus placements. Nearly 85-90% of students have been placed in a batch, every year.

A 10+2 pass with Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject from CBSE or other equivalent Board with 45% Marks in compulsory. Candidates are evaluated on basis of JEE Main score, RPET or JUEE followed by an interview.Those with Diploma in engineering/B.Sc. (Physics/Mathematics/Any other science subject) can pursue a B.Tech-Lateral Entry course.

 

An average package of Rs.4 lakhs is offered on course completion during most placements.

9) Swami Keshavanand Institute of Technology Management and Gramothan (SKIT)

 

This institute was established in the year 2000. Presently, it is ranked in 11th position among B.Tech colleges in Jaipur.

 

The B.Tech programs at SKIT offers 6 specializations.  For admissions into B.Tech courses, a 10+2 pass from any recognized Board with 45% marks and 40% for reserved candidates, is required. It is also based on JEE Main score. The admissions are conducted primarily through REAP.
