Voting begins for 31 constituencies in West Bengal

Kolkata, Apr 11 (IBNS): Voters lined up in front of polling booths as polling began in 31 constituencies spread over three districts in part two of the opening phase of the ongoing Assembly polls elections in West Bengal.

Polling is taking place in 31 constituencies  across three districts- West Midnapore , Bankura and Burdwan- in the state.

Voting is taking place in 8,465 polling stations as nearly 70 lakh voters will decide the fates of 163 candidates on Monday.

Polling for 18 Assembly constituencies in the state was held on Apr 4.

The phase had witnessed a high voter turnout of  more than 80 per cent.

The main battle in the state is witnessed between the ruling Trinamool Congress,  LF-Congress combine and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
