New Delhi, Nov 16 (IBNS): The Winter Session of the Indian Parliament will commence from Wednesday.

The Parliament might witness a stormy start over the Centre's demonetisation move.

Justifying his move of banning Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, Modi on Monday said the poor people in the nation are 'sleeping peacefully' these days.

The government has scrapped the Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes with effect from Nov 9 to fight black money.

Modi announced the government decision on Nov 8.

Meanwhile,  West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with BJP's main ally Shiv Sena will meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday with a petition for a rollback of the Government's decision to abolish 500 and 1000 rupee notes.

However, Congress and CPM will not be part of the protest march.

Ahead of her visit to New Delhi, Banerjee told media that the present move by the Centre has turned people into "beggars."

Meanwhile, the Oppositions have launched an united attack against the Centre's decision to demonetise the old Rs.500/1000 notes.

In a surprise move, BJP's ally in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, has also joined the WB CM.

Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has criticised the government for the severe problems caused to common people as a result of the demonetisation policy.

The Congress had earlier hosted opposition parties to plan a united response on demonetisation.

However, they said they are not demanding a roll back of the initiative but are "against the economic chaos inflicted by this hasty, unprepared move."

Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party is also supporting Banerjee.
