Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan receives legal notice for using the word 'Bible' in her pregnancy memoir title
Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has received a legal notice for using the word 'Bible' in her pregnancy memoir named "Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible."
The notice was reportedly issued by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
A single-judge bench of Justice Gurpal Singh Ahluwalia issued the notice on advocate Christopher Anthony's petition to register a case against Khan as well as the book's sellers, reported NDTV.
The court has sought a reply from the actress on why the word 'Bible' has been used in the title.
Notices were also issued to the sellers of the book.
In his petition, Antony reportedly demanded a ban on the sale of the book.
Anthony claimed in his petition that the use of the word hurts the sentiments of the Christian community.
The petitioner had first approached the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the actor but when they refused to file a case, he moved a lower court to file a complaint against her, reported NDTV.
His request was rejected by the court which said the petition did not establish how the use of the word in the title made it offensive.
His petition was also dismissed by the Additional Sessions Court.
"Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be" was released in 2021.
