10 policemen killed in triple blasts in Afghanistan
Kabul, Nov 10 (IBNS): At least 10 policemen died and several others injured after triple blasts rocked East Afghanistan's three cities, including capital Kabul on Monday, media reported.
According to reports, the most severe explosion occurred in Logar province where seven officers died when a suicide bomber attacked a police headquarters.
It has been learnt that the bomber was wearing police uniform.
Police chief Zahir Zahir was not present at the time of the attack, but his chief of staff Yassin Khan was killed and six others wounded.
The second attack took place near Jalalabad in eastern Nangarhar province, where three policemen were killed by a bomb planted in a rickshaw, officials said.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the Logar and Jalalabad attacks.
On the other hand, in Kabul, a magnetic bomb planted in a flower bed near a university wounded three people.
The attack came a day after triple blasts rocked the capital on Sunday morning in which one senior policeman has reportedly been killed.
On Sunday, a suicide bomber walked into the offices of Kabul's police chief and detonated his explosives, killing a senior aide.
Kabul authorities are still investigating how a suicide bomber was able to enter the offices of the city's police chief.
