AAP sparks row with horse trading slur on BJP over Delhi govt.
New Delhi, July 17 (IBNS) A war of words broke out between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Admi Party since Thursday morning with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal alleging horse trading and tweeting quoting unnamed sources that Delhi Lieutenant Governor might call BJP for formation of government in Delhi.
"Sources-Despite public outcry, LG likely 2 invite BJP 2 form govt 2day. BJP will accept it....." tweeted Kejriwal who had ran the Delhi government with Congress support briefly before resigning.
"..BJP still does not hv nos. Sources - 6 cong MLAs not yet ready. BJP's assessment - After taking oath, it wud bcome easier to buy MLAs...." tweeted Kejriwal who said they want the Lieutenant Governor to invite AAP to form government .
He tweeted: "Wud LG save his chair or the constitution - nation will keenly watch."
"Can LG afford not to invite BJP? Else, won't he be transferred or removed, as happened to other guvs?" tweeted Kejriwal.
"I hv sought an appointment from LG for all AAP MLAs to meet him today. Waiting for his response," he tweeted.
"Wud LG encourage horse trading if he invites a party to form govt despite knowing that they don't have nos?" tweeted Kejriwal.
An angry BJP fired back.
BJP leader Nalin S Kohli tweeted: "It is the greatness of our democracy that it allows space to even such inconsistent behaviour as Kejriwal & his law breaking colleagues."
"Attacking constitutional posts for political mileage is 2nd nature to Mr Kejriwal, a self proclaimed anarchist," he said.
"Isnt it the same LG who invited Kejriwal to form the govt in Dec 13 despite no majority? Was the LG partisan to invite Kejriwal then," he said.
BJP leader Harish Khurana also hit back.
"I challenge @Kejriwal to tell the name of BJP leader who has offered 20cr to ur party or to congress party.or else apologies of face court," tweeted Harish Khurana, BJP Delhi unit media in-charge.
"Will not accept insulting of our BJP workers ,either give proof or apology.u cannot say BJP wale.tell the name of our leader.@kejriwal," he said in the post.
After remaining in power for 49 days, Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Feb 14 as his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government-backed Jan Lokpal bill was not tabled in the Delhi Assembly.
Arvind Kejriwal later apologized to the people for quitting as the Delhi Chief Minister.
He said the AAP will seek fresh assembly elections in Delhi.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor is Najeeb Jung.
