Mumbai, Oct 22 (IBNS): With Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray withdrawing stand to block release of film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, the film is likely to release during the Diwali weekend as scheduled and without any further problem, according to media reports on Saturday.
Thackeray met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the film's producers at the CM's residence before taking his decision.
Mukesh Bhatt, president of Film & Television Producers Guild of India, also attended the meeting, media reported.
Bhatt and others had met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday about the release of the film.
The Indian Express quoted Raj Thackeray as saying, "“We have always protested against Pakistani artistes but Bollywood never understood earlier. Now they have realised. Terrorist attacks have always been happening. I told Mukesh Bhatt. Pakistan bans our films and channels as per whims and fancies. So why are we rolling the red carpet for Pakistani actors."
Bhatt confirmed after the meeting on Saturday that a slate of tribute for Uri martyrs before the screening of the film begins, according to media reports.
