Air India flight tyre gets deflated on taxi strip, passengers survive a scare
Mumbai, Oct 18 (IBNS): Passengers on board an Air India flight survived an accident on Tuesday morning after one of its tyre deflated on the taxi strip, reports said.
The aircraft from Ahmedabad was carrying about 128 passengers.
However, no injuries were reported.
Airport officials were quoted by Hindustan Times as saying that they were lucky that the incident took place after the aircraft vacated the main airstrip.
"A similar tyre burst on the runway could have held up peak hour traffic and had a cascading effect on the entire day’s schedule," a senior official said.
