Babri demolition case : L K Advani and Uma Bharti asked to appear in court on May 30
Lucknow, May 25 (IBNS) : A special CBI court on Thursday asked veteran BJP leader L K Advani and union minister Uma Bharti to appear on May 30 in connection with the 1992 Babri masjid demolition case, reports said.
The court today said they can not be exempted and they must appear before the court on the given date.
The court's move came after the Supreme Court ordered restoring of the serious criminal conspiracy offence against them, among others for a trial.
They are already facing trial for giving provocative speeches from a platform near the mosque before it was pulled down by karsevaks.
The court on Wednesday had granted bail to former Shiv Sena lawmaker Satish Pradhan after he surrendered in another Babri Masjid demolition case. Special CBI court judge SK Yadav granted him bail on two sureties of Rs. 20,000 each and a personal bond of the same amount.
